We Care
Charles Samuel Luck III, the second-generation leader of Luck Companies, grew up in the family business, bringing water to associates working in the Boscobel Quarry when he was a young boy. After graduating from Virginia Military Institute and proudly serving in the United States Air Force, he joined the company in 1957. He became President in 1965.
A true pioneer in the aggregates industry and a caring and courageous leader, he led Luck Companies through three decades of expansion and innovation, laying the groundwork for the future of the people-focused, innovative organization he loved. He established industry-leading associate training programs and championed the unwavering commitment to quarry aesthetics that Luck Companies is known for today. Under his leadership, the company launched a comprehensive associate safety program, expanded into Northern Virginia, automated our plants, computerized our ticketing systems and established an Aviation Department.
Charles Samuel Luck III lived and led by the Golden Rule, inspiring associates to care for each other, their communities and to take the company to the next level together.
